Gubri Promotes Riau Batik in Bali
NUSAPOS, BALI - The Riau Provincial Government is currently promoting and developing batik in accordance with the specific areas of each city district in Riau Province, one of which is Batik Bono.
This was conveyed by the Governor of Riau (Gubri) Syamsuar when he was the keynote speaker at the 2020 Indonesia Creative Cities Festival (ICCF) at the Sanur Creative Hub House, Denpasar City, Thursday (26/11/2020) night.
When he was the keynote speaker at the event, he was also wearing a typical Riau batik shirt which became his pride when he made a visit outside the region with the aim of making Riau batik better known to people outside the Riau region.
"This is what I wear is batik Riau and not batik from Java or other regions," said Syamsuar.
Batik Bono is a typical Batik of Pelalawan Regency made with printed and written batik cloth. Batik Bono is one of the typical souvenirs from Riau which is so popular and beautiful to wear. Besides, there are also several Batik Bono motifs that already have Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
"Maybe Bono is the only one in Indonesia that is used by tourists for surfing or surfing, and this is also the batik," he explained.
Bono batik is only a part of the batik motifs in Riau province, there are many others including Siak batik and so on.
